THE COURSES

Up to 18 knots of wind: The courses to be sailed will be Windward-Leeward courses.

From 19 knots of wind: The courses to be sailed will be Olympic Triangle courses.

The number of upwind beats will displayed at the warning signal by a pennant number.

For the races of the semi-final and the final, mark 1 and mark 1a is a gate.

The finish of the final series will be ‘as close as possible’ near the KLYC jetties. Not
necessarily downwind, but possibly upwind.

 

RACE FORMAT

The regatta will consist of a qualifying round and a final round.

Qualifying round: maximum eleven (11) races ending on Sunday at noon.

On Sunday afternoon “The Wooden race”, the crews ranked 9nd to the last ranked place.

Semi-final: One (1) race. The crews ranked 2st to 8th in the qualifying round and plus the winner of the “Wooden race” compete in the Semi-final. The top 3 crews qualify for the final.

Final: One (1) race. The winner of the qualifying round and the top 3 crews of the semi-final compete in the final. First crew to finish will be the winner of the event.

SCORING

Valid races are required to validate the event.

When fewer than 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race
scores.

When 4 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race
scores excluding her worst score.
